The association “Baštara” tries to protect and improve life-environment, to develop ecologic conscience, research and education in the field of healthy food, and in all the branches that contribute to improvement of life’s quality.
Presently the Union is active in two locations: the seat of the Union is in Belgrade and the main research station is located in Brdjani, not far from town Ljubovija on the Drina .
One of fundamental leading ideas is creating conditions for better communication between apparently totally opposite concepts, such as: Europe-Serbia, village-town, civilization-nature, woman-man, child-parent… that is a prerequisite for better understanding and easier solutions of existing problems. We wont COLLABORATION instead of conflict! Return to nature is our first step. It’s return to elementary, universal values, to basic elements and to the clear energy as a prerequisite for healthy life. But returning to nature mustn’t become running away from civilization. Development and progress are not joinable with fear and running away. Civilization should be given a shape, should be developing, but not in contrast to the basic natural laws and not to the disadvantage of our own support ground. We’ve been searching for all positive values and features, spiritual as well as material goods that we wish to build our and our children’s life with. We believe in success because we trust the NATURE.
Research station “BAŠTARA” is a small suggestion and an attempt to live more sensibly, healthier, more creative. We have planted a vaccination bud for a better world in our garden. We want to nurse it and enable it to develop.

International MOBA was the pilot project of our association. During year 2004, we have successfully organized 3 international meeting, one in spring, one in summer and one in autumn. Every MOBA last two weeks and every time we did unexpectedly a lot (putting the estate in order and picking fruit). We have been pouring fresh energy and returning the sense of nearly forgotten old Serbian custom that people mutually help each other carry out difficult and huge work and undertakings.

It is proposal for collaboration between the village and the town, but also between Serbia and Europe and the rest of world, to a mutual satisfaction and general benefit of all. Each MOBA has got its leading subject (task), which is being treated and solved through common work and consulting conversation. The participants of MOBA live a modest simple life in a healthy natural environment. They are developing mutual communication, they are expanding ecologic conscience a and conscience as such, they are researching collaboration possibilities, they are practicing their body and mind through their work on the oil, they are learning from one another and from the Nature…
